IT Shared Services Catalog | 78 9.1 MICROSOFT TEAMS SERVICE DESCRIPTION Microsoft Teams is a persistent chat-based collaboration platform that provides document sharing and online meeting capabilities, as well as many other features designed to enhance business communications. Microsoft Teams is a chat-centered workspace in Office 365 that helps team members achieve more together. Microsoft Teams serves as a hub for teamwork, providing instant access to chat conversations, content, and tools from across Office 365 into a single workspace. Microsoft OneDrive is built in, team members can work on Office documents within the app, and documents can be simultaneously edited by multiple users. In addition to chats, Microsoft Teams also supports video calls and meetings to let teams meet live, whether on demand or scheduled. Team members can easily collaborate with multiple teams and search across contacts, chats and files at any time. Microsoft Teams works across Windows, web browsers and iOS platforms. Internet-only customers can share their presence and connect with other Teams users via instant message, audio conferencing and video calls. Customers can host online meetings with audio and video using one-click desktop screen sharing. An optional license add-on provides dedicated conference calling which includes a dial in number for meeting participants. SERVICE NOTES Microsoft Teams is only accessible from within the U.S. Multi-factor authentication is required to access Teams. Data will remain within the Office 365 tenant and Admin managed devices. Retention policy will be set to 30 days from the date of file modification. Data loss prevention is enabled to alert on Social Security, ABA routing and credit card numbers. Service telemetry is logged to the state security information and event management (SIEM) to include authentication and modifications. Deleted items remain in the recycle bin for 90 days. Version history is kept for 25 versions of each file. External backup copies of data are not performed. Web conferences are not recorded.
