Manages a unit in a complex, medium-size electronic data processing environment to ensure timely production and accuracy of products; may direct administrative and technical services for voice and video communications.
Plans, develops and maintains efficient operating systems for the data processing and distribution of data to customers. Schedules personnel and equipment for the efficient use of information technology resources. Ensures that data processing equipment is properly maintained; maintains the associated supply inventory. Organizes and establishes operating controls and tracking methods to ensure the timely and accurate processing of data. Develops short- and long-range plans for voice, data and video communications. Develops policies and procedures for the management of communications systems.
Knowledge of information technology equipment and procedures. Knowledge of production schedules and information technology uses. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with operators and end customers. Ability to plan, organize and review the work of administrative and technical staff. Ability to develop and implement administrative policies and procedures and evaluate their effectiveness. Ability to communicate effectively.
An associate degree with experience in computer operations or a related data processing field.Related experience may be substituted for the required associate's degree on a year-for-year basis.
