General Nature of Work

Provides management, for the student financial aid services; accountable for regulatory compliance, stewardship of scholarship funds, and implementation of best practices in administration of financial aid programs.

This class is typically used for employees who function as managers within financial aid where work is further subdivided and directed by supervisors or leaders.

Examples of Work

Recommends, interprets, administers, reviews and updates financial aid policies, procedures and services ensuring compliance with federal, state and institutional regulations/policies. May act as liaison with the Department of Education and other agencies to respond to questions, resolve problems, provide data, interpret and apply changes in rules and regulations concerning financial aid. Reviews, responds and communicates proposed legislation related to financial aid to appropriate personnel. Attends and participates in professional groups, seminars, and/or training. Supervises financial aid personnel. Conducts regular training and use available resources to ensure staff is current with federal, state and institutional regulations. Plans, leads, organizes, evaluates, and improves all day-to-day functions and operations of the financial aid and scholarships department in compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations/policies. Develops and implements best practices in administration of financial aid programs. Monitors work flow efficiencies; recommends and implements changes as necessary. Conducts internal audits of financial aid administration. Monitors compliance with federal, state and institutional guidelines. Prepares and administers all financial aid award budgets and office administrative budgets. Manages the development and dissemination of federal, state and institutional reports. Makes recommendations for the development and implementation of a strategic plan for awarding and distributing funds to eligible students in distributing funds in accordance with federal, state and institutional guidelines. Plans, writes, edits, publishes and updates financial aid program information as it relates to policies and procedures and services available to students, faculty and staff. Serves as liaison between the campus and the general public, parents and alumni.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelorメs degree and financial aid or related experience.
