Coordinates design, printing, layout and artwork for magazines, brochures, booklets and educational materials for an agency, department or institution.
Supervises the day-to-day graphics production. Provides necessary artwork and animation processes in the production of educational films. Develops graphic designs to represent and interpret manuscripts scheduled for publication. Supervises the correction of cromalins and blueline proofs. Determines graphic budget requirements. Confers with editorial staff and photographers to ensure the accuracy and quality of visual interpretations.
Knowledge of the principles, procedures and methods of graphic arts. Knowledge of the methods and techniques involved in layout, graphic art work, design and print processes. Ability to evaluate photos and art for the accurate display of editorial content. Ability to supervise the work of a graphics staff. Ability to design and construct exhibits and displays for educational programs.
An associate degree in art and experience in graphics programs.
