This class is used for employees who provide expert-level consultative services.

Examples of Work

Plans and directs the work of an agency photography section.Coordinates the development and production of media instruction or communications programs.Determines budget needs and prepares budget requests.Coordinates and schedules closed circuit video operations.Serves as technical advisor for planning and special projects.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of appropriate media equipment, materials, practices and procedures. Knowledge of market research procedures and techniques.Knowledge of closed circuit distribution systems and procedures.Knowledge in visual resources collections.Knowledge of research methods and information needs.Knowledge in the use of authorities and of metadata standards.Knowledge of technologies and use of software needed for digital image production.Skill in the use and repair of computer presentation, audiovisual, and photographic equipment.Skill in the operation of complex photographic, video or other equipment.Ability to supervise the work of others.Ability to communicate effectively.Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others.Ability to adapt to changing technologies and standards.

Minimum Requirements

A bachelor's degree in media arts, photojournalism, information services or education and entry-level work experience in a related field; or, a high school diploma and journey-level work experience in a related field.
