General Nature of Work

Directs case management coordination services to include assessment, planning, monitoring, advocacy and direct intervention.

Examples of Work

Implements and supervises case management, interagency coordination and treatment programs provided by staff. Insures the needs of clients are being met. Performs individual and group psychotherapy utilizing advanced psychological tests tailored for individual clients. Prepares a comprehensive client evaluation based on initial interviews, standardized test batteries, follow-up interviews and individualized tests. Formulates, implements and monitors in-service staff training programs. Provides feedback and support to subordinate staff to enhance effective performance and service delivery. Performs psychometric evaluations to assist in the diagnosis of depression and anxiety disorders. Leads treatment planning meetings. Supervises the maintenance of client records, files, progress notes, and other necessary documentation. Reviews, revises and coordinates budget estimates, reports and records. Participates in various civic and community activities to promote the program area. Analyzes cases to ensure quality of determination writing and correctness of the decision. Prepares technical project reports.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of psychological, educational and developmental needs of educationally, socially or psychologically impaired individuals. Knowledge of clinical supervision. Knowledge of individual and group counseling techniques. Knowledge of psychotherapeutic techniques, differential diagnosis and psychometric instruments. Knowledge of statistical techniques and research procedures. Knowledge of policies and procedures relating to establishment and maintenance of community social service programs. Knowledge of specialized needs in education and treatment for emotionally and/or environmentally handicapped clients. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with necessary agencies, organizations and interested public or private groups. Ability to supervise employees. Ability to present clear and comprehensive oral and written reports. Ability to identify and effectively utilize resources available in the community to accomplish objectives. Ability to organize and maintain a caseload as necessary. Ability to communicate effectively.

Minimum Requirements

A bachelor's degree and professional experience in human services or social services programs.
