Reduction in Force
An agency can implement a Reduction in Force (RIF) for one or more of the following reasons: reorganization, work shortage, loss of funding or outsourcing/privatization. Information to assist agencies in the creation and implementation of a RIF plan can be found here (.pdf). The RIF Communication Guide (.pdf) provides guidance on developing a communication plan related to a RIF.

Types of Pay
State Human Resources regulations provide multiple pay options to increase employee base compensation including performance, additional duties, additional skills and retention. Multiple compensation options are available to address temporary or conditional situations, for example, temporary salary adjustments, market and geographic differentials, on call pay, shift differentials and bonuses.
